Science comedy spectacular

Run time: 20.30 – 22.00

A scientist and a comedian walk into a bar… Join a line up of fantastic science comedians for an evening of absolute zero chill.

The evening will be compered by the hilarious Freya McGhee, who blends science, comedy and dating into one unforgettable experiment. A self-deprecating style matched with a determination to seek revenge on ex-boyfriends, McGhee’s relatable style ensures a bond with all audiences.

Our other clever comedians include:
  • Rachel Honeyghan-Williams, researcher at the Ear Institute (University College London), will discuss the highs and lows of being human, why it would be better to be a chicken and mammals making their own custard.
  • Nick Werren, quantum physicist at Heriot-Watt University, who will attempt to answer the big questions of 'what is science?' and in doing so dismantle the last three thousand years of human progress.
  • Erin Beeston, research associate at Autism@Manchester (University of Manchester) who will prove that autism is NOT contagious but laugher may well be.
  • Kate Slade, Lecturer in Psychology (Lancaster University), who has a passion for psychology and hot glue guns.
