Once upon a time…

Run time: 18.00 – 19.00

What can traditional tales, myths and legends teach us about science today?

Before the written word, the printing press and the internet, people would gather around the fire and tell each other stories. This ancient art of oral storytelling was not just for entertainment – it was a crucial way of sharing information and passing it on.

Join storyteller and former chemist Chris Adriaanse for a performance and workshop exploring how stories have helped transmit scientific knowledge across generations.

As well as thinking about what old stories can teach us, Chris will also discuss how a scientific outlook can enrich the modern retelling of folk and fairy tales.
