AI: Doom or bloom?
This talk runs from 12.30 – 13.30
Have you ever been excited by ChatGPT? Scared by Siri?
These human-seeming AI tools have recently divided the public and stirred a range of emotions from people all around the world. But as much as chatbots might sound like humans, do they think like us?
Antonia Marcu (Department, University of Southampton) will reveal a more grounded understanding of how AI models ‘think’. Explore what AI is good at, what it lacks, and perhaps most importantly, how we can predict its behaviour in the future.
If you want to know more about the AI challenges that humans have yet to overcome, this is the talk for you.
