PFAS stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a large group of human-made chemicals used in many everyday products, from waterproof clothing and food packaging. Their superpower is that they resist water, grease, and stains. Their downside? These chemicals don’t break down in the environment, raising concerns about their impact on people and the planet.
