Lassie’s got talent

Run time: 10.30 – 11.30

Ever talked to a terrier? How about a chat with a chihuahua? We might enjoy talking to our canine companions, but how much do they actually understand? Juliane Kaminski of the Dog Cognition Centre (University of Portsmouth) will explore this question and help you find out if your dog is really down for discourse. But can some dogs process speech better than others? And does that mean these dogs have “language”? Come along to discover what kind of dogs have the gift of the gab, and why this matters to our understanding of wider animal language.
