Nightjar: Bird migration and belonging

When birds leave British shores, do you ever wonder where they go?
Named after the mysterious nocturnal bird species, Nightjar is a creative workshop exploring migration, climate change and culture. Led by a team of artists from African Activities CIC, you will explore the Nightjar’s migration between the New Forest and Ghana and discuss the impact of humans on fragile ecosystems.
You’ll experiment with Adinkra printing, a creative pattern-making technique found in West Africa, that uses bold visual symbols to explore what it means to be human and our relationship to nature.
This workshop is part one of a two-part event exploring the Nightjar through art, conservation and reflection.
