Southampton and the disappearing night

Run time: 18.00 – 19.00
Over the last century, the night has undergone a radical transformation, with humans generating more light every year.
This can lead to all kinds of distress in our nocturnal cities, altering animal behaviour, threatening ecosystems and even impacting human health and wellbeing. Hannah Dalgleish (University of Southampton) will share her work with local councils and communities to find out what light pollution means for us and our environment. Join her to explore what can be done about it and how, together, we can create a safe and healthy nighttime for all living things.
